NEWHAM MANOR LANE SP5859 (South side) 15/150 Meadow Cottage GV II Former farmhouse, now house. Late C17. Coursed ironstone rubble, plain tile roof, brick end and ridge stacks, those to ridge and right end with stone bases. unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Central C20 plank door with hood mould, 3-light casement windows, replacing mullions, to either side with hood moulds and moulded stone surround to that to right, a 2-light casement window to far left with moulded stone lintel and hood moulds, a small rectangular window to far right with moulded wood frame in chamfered stone surround. 3-light ovolo mullion leaded windows with hood moulds to first floor, except for that to left of 2 lights. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beans, some original stop-chamfered joists, open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer and stone fireplace with 4-centred arched head. Formerly thatched.
