Gatehouse, now estate office. 1613. Brick with ashlar dressings and plain tiled roof. 2 storeys on brick plinth. Semi circular doorway glazed in C20, flanked by paired Tuscan columns on high bases. Entablature at first floor level interrupts continuous string course of bowtells under hood. Single cross mullioned stone casements of 3-lights to left and right under pediments. Octagonal corner turrets. 3 shaped gables close cross gabled roofs and partly contain first floor cross mullioned casements with pediments. Clock in central gable head. Central timber cupola. Letters R.G. on first floor. 2 rainwater heads dated 1620. South and north gables shaped on square shoulders, latter with 2 first floor windows under pediments. External stacks with tall star capped octagonal shafts C19. Rear elevation similar to front. Punched balustraded wall continues west to enclose original courtyard leading to brick wall with coping and octagonal corner turret at return.
