TF 71 SW NARBOROUGH MAIN ROAD (east side) 2/14 Narside

GV II

Former miller's house, Late C18. Gault brick with concrete tile roof. 3- bay facade bordered by a pair of giant pilasters with recessed central panels. Semicircular headed ground floor sash window with glazing bars to south recessed within an enclosing arch. Similar window to north has been replaced by an early C20 canted bay. Moulded stucco imposts extended to form string- course. Slightly advanced pedimented centre bay. Open porch, semicircular in plan, with 4 tall Roman Doric columns supporting a simple entablature. 2-leaf panelled front door beneath a semicircular fanlight radiating glazing bars. First floor with 3 sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. Painted cornice moulding approximately 3 courses below eaves. North wall with 2 3-light Gothick windows with Y-traceried glazing bars. Hipped roof with axial principal stacks. Lower service wing to rear.
