6/21 Manor Cottage
- II Cottage. c.1600 find C18 additions. Timber framed with rendered wattle and daub infill and thatched roof. Lobby entrance plan, now altered. 3 bays in 2 storeys. Door to right behind C20 rustic timber porch. All windows C20 casements, the upper ones with C20 gabled heads under eyebrow thatch matching dormer in C18 additional right bay. Gabled roof, that to C18 bay lower. Right internal gable stack and ridge stack left of centre over original door. Rear has C18 random brick and flint outshut pantiled with C20 fenestration. South gable of C18 brick in chequered pattern using burnt headers. Flat brick string course at eaves line. Parapet on kneelers and brick tumbling. Interior close studded. Plain chamfer stops to lounge bridging beam. Remains of 5-light diamond mullion window looking into rear outshut, mullions replaced 1982. Similar remains in first floor room looking east and again in room looking north. Tie beams on large arched braces, only one surviving. Queen strut roof with clasping purlins and collars.
