TL 99 SW HOCKHAM 6/48 Little Hockham Hall
- II
House. c.1600 and mid Cl9. Brick C19 facade, rear timber framed with rendered wattle and daub infill. Slate roofs. 2 storeys. Original range with cross wings contains some C18 casements, the remainder mid C20. North wing weatherboarded in gable. South wing rebuilt in brick casing and gabled. Large external stack to south stepped with 2 octagonal shafts. Main range gabled with central ridge stack on heavy plinth with 6 octagonal shafts. C19 range to east of no particular interest. Interior sitting room with close studded timber frame and one bridging beam. Good fireplace under 4-centred moulded brick arch of English bond. Jambs and arch contain one sunk hollow and one sunk quadrant moulding. Dining room fireplace similar with chamfered brickwork. Timber framing of north wing intact.
