Railway signal box, 1862, repositioned 1898, carstone and brick,
tiled roof renewed. Principal facade to railway line: ground floor
of small carstone with brick dressings, 4 narrow 4-paned lights,
narrow foot platform above; 1st floor totally glazed in 5 sections
each of 6 large lower panes and 12 small upper panes; fretwork verge
to eaves; left return with ground floor as front but with 2 windows
to ground floor and 2 glazed panels to 1st floor, gable with fishscale
hung tiles and pierced fretwork barge boards; right return as left
but with door to left of ground floor and 2 windows to right, central
closed string steps to wooden balcony of 1st floor, part glazed door
to right. Interior: signalling equipment complete. In 1889 the
track was widened so the signal box was moved and attached at rear

Pair of estate cottages: attached at left to signal box,c1870, carstone
and ½ timbered, pantiles with cockscomb ridge tiles to roof and dormers,
4 bays, 1½ storeys. Ground floor of carstone with brick dressings and brick
plinth, each cottage with central doorway, boarded doors with decorative
strap hinges, gabled porch with hipped roof of plain tiles and fretwork
decorative arch; 2-light casements with transoms either side of each doorway.
1st floor jettied on large shaped brackets, ½ timbered with rendered panels,
4 gabled dormers each with 2-light casements. Axial stacks of linked lozenge
shafts to centre, left and right. Right return with jettied 1st floor,
large window to ground floor.
