Details

GAYTON LITCHAM ROAD TF 71 NW 6/24 Mill House & attached 19-10-51 ranges to north, c.20m to west of the Mill q.v. 6/23 GV II House, c.1800 incorporating older material, colourwashed, mainly brick with some flint, pantiled hipped roof, 3 bays, 2 storeys. Irregular facade to east, left-hand side of brick dressed flint. Recessed sashes with glazing bars and exposed sash boxes. 3 to ground floor; 3 to first floor, those to bays 2 and 3 of 4 x 4 panes with reeded sash boxes. Doorway between second and third ground floor sashes, upper part of door glazed with glazing bars. Attached ranges to north staggered and fronting Litcham Road: early C19. 2 storeyed range to left in colourwashed brick under pantiles, third bay at an angle in flint and brick. Renewed sashes with glazing bars to bays 1 and 2, that to ground floor bay 1 recessed, those to bay 2 flush in pairs; bay 3 with double casements having side lights. 2-storeyed range to right set back; colourwashed brick dressed flint with dentil cornice; ground floor with 2 large tripartite sashes under flat arches, first floor with 3 recessed sashes with glazing bars. Attached range of cottages facing East Walton Road of no special architectural interest. Included for group value.
