Farmhouse, early C18 and later. Brick, slate roof. 5 bays, 2 storeys,
forward cross wing to bay 5. South facade: Bays 1 and 2 at C19 addition with
vertical join, bays 3 and 4 with base of large carstone and dressed reused
limestone blocks, wide blocked opening to each floor now with late windows;
cross casements with segmental arches to bays 1 and 2 of ground floor, bays
1-3 of 1st floor; 1st floor with cross window having weathered Gibbs surround
in similar sandstone. Bay 5 a cross wing with C19 canted bay window to ground
floor with embattled parapet and two fixed single lights with Gable end
internal stack to left, axial stack between bays 2 and 3. Right return of
cross wing to east with platband, ground floor with 2 horned flush sashes
under flat arches, 1st floor with 3-light C20 steel casement. Gable end
internal stack to left, axial stack between bays 2 and 3. Right return of
cross wing to east with platband, ground floor with 2 horned flush sashes
under flat arches, 1st floor with 2 flush sashes with glazing bars, end
internal gable stack to north. Continuous outshut to rear in gault brick
under slate; original rear external wall of stone blocks. Interior not
inspected at time of survey.
