4/10 Denver Sluice
- II
Sluice and bridge. 1834 by Sir John Rennie. Enlarged 1923, new flood gate 1928, gates replaced 1960 and again 1983. Brick, stone and steel. 4 arched bridge of brick finished with ashlar and rusticated. 4 ashlar piers of which the outer 2 project north and south to form locks. 3 sluice chambers controlled by timber tide gates to north and 3 steel guillotine gates to south.
