4/30 Garden wall with gate and gate piers attached to west and forecourt walls to south west of Ken Hill House.

Garden walls and gate and entrance forecourt walls. c.1879-1880 by J.J. Stevenson. Coursed dressed and squared carstone garden walls, cut-stone piers and forecourt wall. Garden wall rectangular on plan, with curved section at west. On axis at east the garden entrance gate has 2 stone gate piers of generally Palladian inspiration. Vermiculated plinths, rusticated above and pierced by arches filled by wrought-iron with channelled rustication and voussoir head to arches. Coping section with cornice, pulvinated frieze, a keystone running through both, entablature above. Garden gate inbetween with 2 fixed side panels, gate and overthrow above. Connected at south and forming a "U" plan to the entrance front, a dwarf stone wall punctuated with dwarf piers with roundels.
