GV II
Gatepiers, curved screen walls, terminal piers, and garden gateway and gate. Mid C19, probably by William Chadwell Mylne for this Mylne family property. Tall yellow brick piers and gateway with moulded stone necking to piers and bold stucco cornices as cappings, the gateway with a blocking course. Walls of uncoursed knapped flints with corbelled and chamfered yellow brick capping. Gateway downhill to right (N) set in short lengths of flint walling with chamfered yellow brick plinth, brick quoins and similar capping but with flat band and toothed course below the corbel course. Gateway with depressed round arch in 2 orders in gauged brick with keystone. Projecting impost band and chamfered plinth. Square headed wooden gate with upper part open. Cast iron openwork scrolled panel over with Mylne arms.
