6/55 Lower Hunthouse

Farmhouse. Early C17 core, largely altered during C18 and early C19, further C20 alterations. Sandstone rubble with Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan with lobby-entry and further north gable-end stack. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Entrance front: four openings, left end window replacing former doorway to granary, 3-light casement windows, ground floor, steps up to former granary to left and 3-light casement windows, one to left and two to right of C20 gabled half-glazed porch, inner wooden framed doorway with ledged door. Interior: altered but retains large open fireplace in room to right of entrance with massive stone lintel. Some chamfered ceiling beams survive in this room.
