A pair of houses. C17, with C18 and C19 alterations, further altered and extended C20. Timber-flamed, the framing now plastered over, with a shared off-ridge red-brick stack and a peg-tiled roof. 'T'plan, with original rectangular range to street frontage, with rear extension. East elevation; 2 storeys with attic to no 49, each house of single bay width, the bay containing door, window and small stair light. Plain low doorways with 4-panel doors, and stacked horned sash windows, all save one 3 over 3 panes with margin glazing, the other 2 over 2 panes. Centrally-placed small casement windows at different levels light stairways. West elevation of 3 storeys with central C18 2 storey addition below catslide roof. Interior not inspected but believed to contain features of interest including exposed elements of C17 framing.
