SJ38NE LIVERPOOL SMITHDOWN ROAD 392/7110139 . Hetherington Memorial Sm South of E lodge at T oxteth Park Cemetery

GV II Funerary monument. c.1871. Sandstone ashlar. To various members of the Hetherington family. Islamic style. Square single-cell enclosure with square columns and bases and plain pointed arches. Above a moulded cornice, a square pointed-arched dome. Within the enclosure, a square base carrying a pedestal with plinth and cornice, with inscribed panels on each side. On the pedestal, a square base which formerly supported a symbolic ornament. A very unusual monument, resembling those erected in English cemeteries in India.
