II
House. Late C17, enlarged mid C20, altered late C20. Brick- nogged timber-frame, thatched roof. Two 2-bay units end to end, each one room deep, 1½ storeys. Front: to left taller, longer wing: framing 3 square panels high to eaves; blocked door on left, shaped stud. Two paired 2-light casements; end of beam shows over rail over left pair: some rails inserted. Set back on right: single-light casement, boarded door under leanto open porch, weatherboard roof. Three-light casement to right, cuts stud. Above 2 swept dormers each section, each with 2-light casement, centre pair old. Brick chimney on ridge, centre of left half; ridge slightly lower to left of chimney than on right. External stone chimney on right gable, tiled offsets, brick stack. Internally floor joists raised slightly late C20: large fireplace to right room, left half, with iron crane. Probably originally a single farmhouse, converted to 3 cottages, reconverted C20 to single house. Windows to front largely late C20.
