GV II

Barn and former stable. Late C17; extended C18, altered C20. Timber-framed on stone plinth, coursed, squared stone gable on end, corrugated-iron roof. Four bay barn, inserted lofts in 2: single-bay lofted stable on end. To road: on right stone gable returned slightly as buttress: 3-panel high framing with inset boards: faced butt-jointed boarding last section to right of doors to threshing floor and to whole of left section. Double doors to threshing floor, diagonal boarding, stop one panel short of eaves. Roof to end bay on left given flatter pitch C20. Centre boarded door to stable left return; similar to loft over. Internally stone paved threshing floor, double doors off centre. Low sill each side with long braces to main posts. Doors to yard to eaves. Two bays to right, light, inserted lofts: queen-strut trusses, two pairs purlins, square ridge. Gable timber framed above stone to eaves level only. Left one bay and stable: tie-beam truss to threshing floor, collar and angle struts. Forms group with mill (q.v.). Lean-to against right gable not of special interest.
