Farmhouse. C15 or early C16, possibly C17, C18, 1843 for JF/JHB (datestone). Flemish bond brickwork on squared, coursed stone plinth on right, slate roof: Sussex-bond brickwork to lean-to extension; brick-nogged timber-framing left, tiled roof. Left end timber framing, corrugated-iron roof. 'T' plan, short 2 room cross wing, 2 storey above cellar; 3-window, 2 storey stem, with 3-bay, part lofted attached end. Entrance front: cross wing on right. Right return, in centre semi-circular headed doorway in plinth to cellar, rubbed brick arch, brick hoodmould, stone imposts and keystone (datestone). Either side window opening with iron bars, rubbed brick arch. Central sash window ground and first floors, stone lintel, dummy keystone. Wide, flat eaves soffit: hipped roof, chimney from eaves each side window. Front: ground level higher: end of cross wing 2 sash windows per floor as right return, also similar eaves. To left front of main section covered by open verandah, 2 timber posts on stone bases, corrugated-iron roof. Behind, on right 4 stone steps with iron railing up to 6- panel door on left return cross wing, cambered brick arch: steps down to cellar adjoin. To left 6-pane sash window, boarded door under cambered brick arch on left. Single-storey lean-to brick extension on left, corrugated-iron roof. Boarded door on right return opening under verandah; 2-light casement on front. First floor, 2-light casement on right, leaded lights in upper part. To left, above lean-to, timber-framed wall, two 2-light casements. Ridge chimney at right-hand end of timber timber-framing. On left timber-framed extension, lower eaves, probably farm building: doorway on right: framing some wattle and daub, some boards between studs, some weatherboarding. Various lean-to additions to front not of special interest. Interior: brick arches in cellar below internal walls in cross wing. Left gable of 2-storey timber-framed section a cruck truss, top cut off when roof pitch lowered. King-post truss to framed building beyond, roof otherwise renewed.
