4/207 Mill, about 150m east-south-east of Pauntley Court
GV II
Mill and barn; probably mid.C18. Well-squared, coursed stone to gable facing house, coursed, rougher stone to right return, random rubble to left: multi-roll Bridgewater tile roof. Seven-bay, partly lofted. Gable towards house: plinth, wide, boarded door part way up wall, cambered head, stone voussoirs, projecting keystone. Tall latin-cross air vents each side: cast-iron fire back built into gable above, dated 1610. Crow-stepped gable, projecting copings to each step. Right return, 2 slit air-vents, one above other, on left: wide cambered-head opening, arch about half height of wall, brick jambs, rebate for doors, stone hinge blocks, brick-on-end arch. To right a slit air vent, wide door to loft over. On right further doorway as first, and 2 slit air vents, one each level. At right end brick arch over opening for leat. Internally, loft to right-hand half only: some framing for mill machinery survives. Trusses slight king post, 1 pair purlins, square ridge. Built as eyecatcher for house.
