7/225 Smith monument in the churchyard about 11m west of centre window, west wall of nave, Church of St. Lawrence

GV II

Pedestal tomb; early C19; stone. Swept pyramid to top, step, weathered lid, moulded edge, reeded frieze below, centre and corner paterae, latter round corner. Raised moulding below. Sides raised oval, moulded edge, oval corner paterae. Moulded top to base. Commemorates John Smith, died 1822, his wife, died earlier: other inscriptions 1836 and 1857.
