GV II

Farm buildings. Circa 1868 by Waterhouse for T F Buxton of Easneye. Red brick with diaper of black headers on W front and with red tiled roof and ornamental cresting. U-shaped range of model farm buildings to N of farmhouse. Single-storey with walls divided into rectangular panels by moulded plinths, pilaster strips and moulded corbel course to eaves band. Entrance through 2-storeys arched gateway in W range with armorial achievement and gabled tilehung doveloft on front and steep French roof. Buttressed tumbled brickwork supporting moulded archway as on porch at Easneye mansion. Stables stepping up slope in N range with small tiled louvre on ridge. A range of arcaded shelter sheds with arch braced openings and similar tiled roofs run in front of the N range for part of its length on the yard side. E range of stables with similar louvre, steps up slope to a higher gabled building with hayloft over, bargeboards and tilehung gable. Included for group value with dairy and farmhouse.
