2. 1874 by E R Robson and J J Stevenson. 3 storeys (or 2 storeys and very tall half-attic) originally 6 bays. The 3rd from left much narrower than others. High pitched, tiled roof has 3 steep gable ends with 2 tall wmndows each. One short window in wall between each tall pair and at right end. Multicoloured stock brick walls with much red brick dressing. At 2nd floor left a terra-cotta plaque with swags and inscription "SBL". 11 windows on 1st floor, the 1st and 6th blank. They have moulded brick architrave, frieze and segmental pediment; and a flat pilaster between each window supports cornice. Ground floor windows paired, with Dutch gabled crestings over, set in round arched recesses. The 3rd window from left is single. Late C19 3-bay extension under gable at right. 3-storey and basement, 1-window modern extension at left.
West Greenwich Secondary School forms a group with Nos 56 to 62 (even) Union Place.
