Main north block (Formerly listed as Great Hall etc), East block, West block.

1750 to 59 by James Gibbs. Formal composition round three sides of courtyard. Refaced
with Portland stone in C19. 3 storeys plus basement and slated mansard. Quoins,
bands, dressings to windows, modillion cornice and crowning balustrade. Central
3 bays rusticated with arched entrance and carriageway through main block which
has short, 3 window wings, and good area railings. Interior of north block contains
good timber staircase with important wall painting by W Hogarth. Also very fine
hall, with enriched plaster work etc. Interiors of east and west wing contain
original staircases and other fittings.
