CHITTLEHAMPTON SS 62 NE
2/89 Fullabrook Farmhouse - - II Farmhouse. Probably C17, heavily remodelled, refenestrated and reroofed in C19. Unrendered stone rubble with some cob. Slate roof, gable end to left, hipped at right end. Brick stacks at each end and to gable end of rear wing. Brick shaft to front lateral hall stack. L-shaped on plan, with main range of 3 rooms and through-passage plan; lower end to left, apparently extended by a bay to judge by straight joint and slight recessing to front wall, wide through-passage containing staircase to rear right side, hall to right heated by front lateral stack and inner room at right end axially partitioned to create a small rear passage giving access to gable-ended rear kitchen wing. 2 storey C19 outshut to rear of lower end. 2 storey 4-window range. Early C10 fenestration. 2-light casement, 6 panes per light. Ground floor has two 2-light casements, 8 panes per light to left of C19 stone rubble porch with slate gabled roof. 3-light hall window, and 2-light casements to inner room, 8 panes per light. All windows have slightly cambered stone lintels. Small single light C17 window with chamfered surround to outer face of rear wing. Interior: principally C19 joinery. Hall has 2 axial and one half ceiling beam with wide hollow-step stop chamfers. Inner room beams boxed in. Lower end appears at one time to have been divided axially into 2 rooms, partition now removed and second doorway from passage blocked. Roof structure C19 with pegged trusses with straight principals.
