Villa. 1838-40. Unpainted, lined stucco facing; low pitched slated roof to bracketed eaves. 2 storeys. Italianate manner.Irregular plan, with pedimented wings facing north-east, north-west, south-west and south-east. Entrance, square headed, in projecting porch to north, set in angle between projecting wings. Canted bay window with heavy cornice to north-west wing, at ground floor level. Square headed windows; 3-light sashes with arched heads, and plate glass to north-east face and to upper storeys of north-west and south-east faces. Stucco architrave to casemented window to ground floor on south-east face. 12 paned sashed windows to south-west face. Corniced chimneys. Stucco quoins. Villa built as part of the first stage in the development of Surbiton, following the arrival of the railway in 1838.
