1835-6 designed by H and E Rose as a school for the Licensed Victuallers' Company
Now the NAAFI headquarters. Large 4-storey building of five 3-window sections,
the centre and ends projecting. Stock brick with dressings of stone and stucco
in classical style. Rusticated ground and first floor podia in centre and ends
forming voussoirs to round-arched openings. In centre a tetrastyle composite
pedimented portico before tall triple window with cornice and pediment. Gauged
flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing bars; moulded architraves in
ends. Intermediate sections have a mezzanine floor inserted with modern windows.
Wide flight of steps to 3 round-arched entrances in centre.
