LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON LONDON ROAD, Morden TQ 26 NW (west side) 3/90 Morden Park, including walls and pair of circular garden buldings attached to north west GV II*
Substantial house in its own grounds, now offices. 1770. Brown brick; slate low pitched roof to parapet. 2 storeys. South east front of 5 bays. Central arched entrance in painted stone with flanking Doric columns and pilasters, narrow side sashes and trigliph frieze, cornice and pediment. The painted surrounds rise to form the balustraded apron and architrave of the square headed, pedimented window above. Ground floor windows round headed, set in round gauged headed reveals; sashes, glazing bars. Upper windows square headed, gauged heads, sashes. Painted stone cornice and parapet. Left and right returns with canted ground floor bay windows, containing round headed windows in round headed reveals and having balustraded parapet. Contemporary interior features. Marble paved entrance hall, staircase of Imperial type with wrought iron balustrades and other contemporary fitments. Attached to north west, C18 brick walls with two attached circular buildings with conical slate roofs. History of Merton and Morden (1951).
