2. 1928. Architects Payne and Wyatt. Monumental classical ashlar frontage of 7 bays plus narrower end bays, the main facade being divided by 3 storey enriched Ionic half columns rising from a base storey consisting of shop fronts divided by piers with entablature over. Between the piers are ornamental metal windows with architectural treatment in metal between storeys. The narrow end bays project slightly to full height; a door on ground floor and a window on each floor above. Entablature with modillioned cornice and balustraded parapet across length of building.
