HIMBLETON CP DUNHAMPSTEAD SO 96 SW 3/151 Barn about 30 yards west of Dunhampstead Manor GV II
Barn, now stables. Probably C18, altered mid-C20. Timber-framed on lias limestone rubble plinth, weatherboarded with plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned north-east/south-west with central wagon bay and opposed cart entries now blocked to south-east elevation. North-west elevation has central double doors and three rectangular C20 lights to the right. Interior: wall- framing of long rectangular panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners; collar and tie-beam roof trusses, end trusses having two long struts to collar and raking struts across lower corners; intermediate trusses just have the lower raking struts; two tiers of trenched purlins. The brick outbuilding adjoining the north-east gable end is not included.
