Large house C16 and C17 with alterations c.1950. The manor house of the Bushell family C16 to later C17. Coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings and stone, timber-framing. Plain tile roofs with large chimney stacks, renewed brick diagonal shafts on stone bases. T-plan, a long rear range running east-west and further long range running south from centre of rear range.

South range has paired ridge stack and large outside stack on west wall, stone with brick shaft and affixed plaque '1709 TGB'. East side has exceptional early C17 two-storey porch, ashlar with moulded arched doorway, paired mullion and transom windows and shallow coped shouldered gable. Panelled spandrels with two roundel busts, one broken, entablature over with shallow relief masks in frieze and carved small brackets supporting. In panel between entablature and windows, carved motto 'Dwe ette mwne droit'. Gable with winged boy above and ball finials on shoulders. Three window range to left, one wooden cross-window, the rest C20 refacing with mullioned windows above and mullion and transom below. One window range similar to right south gable, one C20 mullioned window. West side has, to left of stack, C16 timber-framed section, two window range with gabled stair projection in angle to rear range. To right of stack, three window range, stone with wooden cross-windows flanking single casements with top-lights. Some renewed.

Rear range has large triple stack at junction with south range and two paired ridge stacks. East of south range, two window section of stone mullioned windows, two C20 copies, two original. East gable has original attic window and C20 stone mullioned windows below. West of south range, irregular two window section, one dormer, two leaded first floor casements and C20 ground floor door and window. West gable has C20 stone mullioned windows. At the rear two windows visible at first floor, one with moulded surround, one ground floor window with iron octagonal glazing bars. To each side projecting service wings running north and at north west corner attached cottage one storey and attic with two dormers to east front, three windows and two doors.

Interior: panelled ground floor room, hall altered in early C18 (VCH); C17 oak front door.
