House, now public house. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed with rendered infill, brick refacing and replacement walling, partly tile-hung and roughcast at west gable end; plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned east/west; large external rubble chimney at west gable end with tall C19 brick stack; also similar chimney at east gable end enclosed by C19 cross- wing. Two storeys, attic with dormers and cellar. Framing: four rows of panels from sill to wall-plate; no trusses visible. North front elevation: regular arrangement of two ground and three first floor windows, all of which are 3- light casements; three gabled dormers with 2-light casements; central C20 lean-to partly-glazed porch and half-glazed door within. C19 cross-wing gable end to left has a 2-light ground and first floor casement and a loophole in the gable apex. Interior: timber-frame appears mainly intact; original collar and tie-beam roof trusses are said to survive.
