4/23 Outbuilding adjoining Little Brampton Farmhouse
19.8.53 GV II
Outbuilding, original use unknown adjoining Little Brampton Farmhouse (qv). Dated "Jonane Robinson hanc structura edificavit Ano Dom 1637". Brick and dressed and squared sandstone on sandstone rubble plinth with stone slate roof; timber-framed section with weatherboard cladding connects the building to the farmhouse. Small rectangular building aligned north-east/south-west parallel to the house and on the north-west side and connected to the house by a timber-framed section which extends from the south-west end. The stone wall to the north-west has a blocked opening with traces of a square-headed label to the right of a circular datestone with the inscription in a wreathed surround. There is a square-headed doorway in the brick gable end to the north-east and a square-headed opening with a ledged shutter in the gable. (RCHM, Vol III, p 177).
