KEMERTON CP UPPER KEMERTON SO 9437 - 9537 9/91 21/9 Orchard Cottage and West Wynde 13-10-76 - II

Pair of cottages. C17 with mid-C19 and late C20 alterations and additions. Coursed limestone rubble with thatched roof, half-hipped at west end and brick stack to rear centre and right end of ridge; also large C20 rubble stack at left end. Four bays aligned east/west. Single storey and attic with dormers. South front elevation: Orchard Cottage has retained its C19 casements; it has a 2-light and a 3-light ground floor window and two eye- brow dormers with 2-light windows. The main entrance in the east end bay has a C19 ledged and battened door. West Wynde: windows are all 3-light C20 casements. It has a ground floor window, and eyebrow dormer and from the west end bay projects a C20 single-storey wing with a window in its south gable end. There is a flat-roofed porch in the angle with the original part and a C20 door. Attic light at west end. Interior: Orchard Cottage retains its large fireplace.
