House, now sub-divided into tenements. C16 with late C19 additions to rear, further C20 alterations. Square panelled timber-framing with painted brick and plastered infill, brick later additions and part underbuilding on sandstone rubble plinth; tiled roof. Four framed bays aligned north/south facing east with main axial stack and later added gable-end stacks. Two storeys with upper storey carried on jetty with curved braces to east front; part under- built to right end. Four 2-light-casement windows with canted bay window to left and multi-paned bay to right of pair of ledged doors. One 2-light window to right with further ledged door to right, 16-pane glazing bar sash window in brick underbuilding to right. (RCHM, Vol III, p 166, item 46).
