House, now sub-divided into tenements. C14 main hall with C17 cross-wing, C20 alterations and additions. Square panelled timber-framing with part painted brick infill on sandstome rubble plinth; tiled roofs and sandstone stack. Three-bay hall aligned north/south with cross-wing to south, entrance to east front. Large axial stack to hall, lateral stack to cross-wing. Two storeys (with roof of hall raised by one panel); east front: upper floor of cross-wing jettied with two curved brackets; gable end of cross-wing to left with one 2-light C20 casement window and 3-light window to left of C20 ledged door. Hall range to right with one 3-light and two 2-light C20 casement windows; two 2-light casement windows and one 6-pane window to ground floor. Cruck truss revealed to north gable end. Interior retains one further truss with open arched bracing and Cusped details above collar. (RCHM, Vol III, p 167, item 47).
