ORLETON CP KINGS ROAD (south side) SO 4967 10/104 Church Croft 11.6.59 GV II

House. C16, partly rebuilt late C17 with some mid-C19 alterations, extended early C20. Timber-frame with rendered infill on coursed rubble plinth, tile roof. L-plan, C16 cross-wing extending to north, the C17 range to east. A short C20 wing projects to the west from the cross- wing. Central stack in east range of rendered rubble with a rectangular brick shaft. North front of two storeys with one plus one windows, both 3-light casements. Ground floor has two plus one windows, all 3-light casements. The entrance in angle has a lean-to C20 porch. Framing: cross- wing jettied with chamfered bressummer. Ground floor, two square panels high with close-studding above. The gable truss has a king-post with herring- bone struts. Framing of east range four square panels high. Interior has exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, and a large inglenook in west room of C17 range.
