ORLETON CP PORTWAY SO 46 NE 3/111 Portway 11.6.59 II
Farmhouse. Early C18, with some early C19 and late C20 alterations. Brick front on a rubble plinth, with rubble walls behind and a hipped graduated stone tile roof. Square plan with central stack with brick shaft. Three storeys with bands to ground and first floors, and a dog- tooth cornice. Two windows with boxed glazing bar sashes under brick wedge lintels. Second floor has 6-pane boxed sashes. The central entrance has a pedimented wooden doorcase with engaged Doric columns, 6-panel C20 door recessed with panelled reveals and overlight. Interior not inspected but the staircase is reported to have moulded rectangular balusters. (RCHM, 3, p 158, no 21).
