KING'S PYON CP - SO 44 NW 4/52 Wootton
GV II
Farmhouse. Probably C17 with early and late C19 additions and later alterations. Sandstone rubble, brick and timber-frame with plaster and brick infill. Welsh slate roofs with sandstone rubble and brick stacks. Rectangular plan of about seven bays aligned east/west with early C19 cross-wing at east end and square hop-kiln at west end. Two storeys. East elevation of sandstone rubble has three windows, 2-light early C19 cross-casements. Ground floor has 3-light segmentally headed mid-C20 steel casements and central glazed early C20 door in gabled porch. Hipped roof with deep eaves. North elevation has exposed framing, two square panels high over deep plinth and larger external side stack with tall sandstone shaft. Attached to right is late C19 brick hop-kiln with pyramidal roof. Interior has richly chamfered ceiling beams to main range and collar trusses with V-struts, some also with queen struts.
