Details
CANON PYON CP WESTHOPE SO 45 SE 2/35 Barn and stables about 25 yards south-east of Upper House
GV II Barn and stables. Probably C17 and C18 with later alterations. Barn has weatherboarded timber-frame with corrugated iron roof. Stables are of sandstone rubble with tiled and pantiled roof. Rectangular plan aligned north/south with five-bay barn to south and stables to north. Two levels. West elevation has weatherboarded barn to right-hand side with central opposed full-height entry. Stable attached to left has two rectangular loft openings and three doorways, each with segmental head. Weathercock to north gable. East elevation has exposed woven infill to framing of barn which is two square panels high from cill to wall-plate. Stables to right have two vent slits in lower part of wall. Interior of barn has triple angle strut trusses. Stables have queen strut trusses.
