HOPE UNDER DINMORE CP HOPE UNDER DINMORE SO 55 SW 5/74 Old Woodlands II Farmhouse and public house, now house. C17, with mid-C18, mid-C19 and late C20 alterations. Sandstone rubble with two-span hipped machine tiled roofs and large rubble end chimneys; left end chimney has three diagonal brick shafts whilst right end chimney has tiled offsets and a single brick stack., Two storeys, attic and cellar (now blocked). Three bays. North front elevation: windows are C19 casements. There is a 3- light and a 2-light window on the ground floor and two first floor 2- light windows. On the ground floor to the right is a blocked former window. The central entrance has a C20 panelled door and a narrow transom light. There are two original mullion and transom windows (moulded internally) on the first floor of the east elevation. A C20 single-storey addition adjoins the west end and has a large 5-light casement in its north front. Interior: timber-framed wall with rendered infill between north and south ranges. Large fireplaces in main ground floor rooms. A stone well is now incorporated to the south-west of the building. It is probable that the eastern part of the building is largely original, the western half being largely remodelled. (RCHM, Herefs, III, p 71, item 26).
