Outbuilding about 20 yards

Outbuilding, possibly a byre. C17 with mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed,
with lath infill, partly weatherboarded on sandstone rubble base with machine-
tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned roughly north/south. Main west elevation
has three doorways (two with stable doors) and one panel fitted with three rows
of alighting ledges and entry holes for pigeons. Interior: framing of three
rows of square panels from sill to wall-plate with some short straight braces
in lower outer corners of upper outer panels; collar and tie-beam trusses with
struts at ends and two intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts. Two
tiers of trenched purlins. South bay is floored. There is a single-bay timber-
framed addition at the south end with a corrugated iron roof. The outbuilding
is situated adjacent to Maund Farmhouse (qv). Included for group value.
