2/25 Manor Cottage
- II
House. Late C16 to early C17, extended C18 and restored late C20. Timber- frame with rendered infill and slate roof. Three framed bays aligned east/ west (gable end to street), extended to west in rubble, with central stack and lobby-entrance against it. East (street) front: two storeys, jettied at first floor and tie-beam (the latter a shallow projection). A 2-light casement to first floor orver a 3-light and a2-light casement. Framing: four square panels high with straight angle braces. Carved wooden brackets to tie-beam in gable. Truss has two collars, multiple struts and V-struts in apex. Bressummer to jetty and tie-beam, both have simple chamfers. (RCHM 3, p 12, no 15).
