5/44 Mortimer's Cross Mill
- II
Mill. Probably C17 with mid-C19 alterations, restored late C20. Coursed rubble with slate roof. South front: three storeys, second floor lit by gable-end casement, first floor has a 2-light window to left, a loft door to right. Ground floor has two windows to left and an entrance to right with a wooden architrave and stable door. Under shot wooden wheel with metal paddles to left-hand (west) gable. Interior: retains three pairs of stones driven by restored spur gearing. Scheduled as an Ancient Monument, County No 150. In the guardianship of the HBMC.
