6/197 Dovecote about 75 yards south-east of Home Farmhouse
GV II
Dovecote. Probably mid-C18. Part sandstone rubble with brick dressings, part timber-framed with brick infill; plain tiled roof. Square plan. Lower part has rubble walls about two feet thick. Two rows of timber- framed panels beneath eaves level with straight braces across lower corners and plank weathering to mid-rail, Semi-circular headed archway in east elevation; also blocked opening in south elevation. Pyramidal roof has remains of square timber lantern with pyramidal roof and finial. Interior: rendered. About 200 nesting boxes in rubble part.
