3/114 Oasthouse and hop kilns immediately south of - Old Country House
GV II
Oasthouse and hop kilns. Probably late C17 - early C18 and late C19. Two parts. To North: C17 - C18 timber-framed wattle and daub, rubble cased oasthouse with tiled roof. One storey and attic, 2 bays, 9-pane casement to north attic gable, east entrance through ledged door to north bay. Framing is of square panels 3 high to wall-plate with raking struts from collars in gables. To south: a pair of attached brick cylindrical hop kilns with conical slate roofs under cowls and wind-vanes. Interior: the north part has a hop-treading-hole, complete cider press and cider mill, the latter powered by a c1936 "Matchless" motor cycle.
