TENBURY CP off BROMYARD ROAD (west side) SO 66 NW 3/70 Barn about 20 yards north-west of Upper House Farmhouse and adjoining granary
GV II
Barn. Dated 1760. Timber-framed with corrugated iron cladding on tall brick base, some brick walling and plain tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned roughly east/west; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors to south. Ventilation slits in west end wall; also diaper ventilation patterns at east end of base. Framing: long rectangular panels from sill to wall-plate and long straight lower corner braces. Roof has a collar and tie-beam truss with two long struts to the collar and raking struts across the lower corners at the east end; there are two intermediate similar trusses with only raking struts and two tiers of trenched purlins. The date "1760" is inscribed above the south doorway.
