Details

EARDISLEY CP WILLERSLEY SO 34 NW 6/92 Barn about 30 yards north-west of Old Crow Farmhouse GV II Barn. C17, altered mid-C20. Timber-framed with some lath infill, weather- boarded on rubble base and with rubble wall at north-east end; stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing courses and some machine tiles. Three framed bays aligned north-east/south-west; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries, double doors and gabled midstrey to north-west elevation. Lean-to with cat- slide roof to south of midstrey. C20 lean-to to north of midstrey. Interior: wall-framing has probably four panels from sill to wall-plate. Roof has a tie-beam truss with lattice struts at the south-west end and a collar and tie-beam truss with struts and a V-strut above the collar at the north-east end; there are two intermediate tie-beam trusses with two pairs of raking struts and three tiers of trenched purlins. (RCHM, III, p 56, item 62).
