Details
EARDISLEY CP WOODS EAVES SO 24 NE 5/96 Barn and stable about 30 yards north-east of St Mary's Farmhouse nv II Barn and stable. Probably C18. Timber-framed and weatherboarded on rubble base with rubble wall at south-west end and machine-tiled roof. Five framed bays aligned north-east/south-west; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors. North-west elevation: there is a ground floor 2-light window with a plank weathering and a timber lean-to outshut at the left end. The south-west gable end has a 2-light window, a loft door and a stable door. Interior: wall-framing has three panels from sill to wall-plate. The roof has collar and tie-beam trusses with struts throughout; there is a V-strut above the collar of the north-west end truss and there are two tiers of trenched purlins. The barn and stable adjoin the roadside east of the drive- way to St Mary's Farmhouse (qv). Included for group value. (RCHM, III, p 56, item 55).
