Details
KIMBOLTON CP SO 56 SW 7/17 Upper Bache Farmhouse 11.6.59 GV II Farmhouse. Possibly of C16 or C17 origins, altered during late C19 and C20. Sandstone rubble possibly refacing earlier timber-framing; part hipped Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan formerly L-plan, with wing to rear (demolished), axial stacks, entrance to south-east front. Two storeys and cellar. South-east front: section to left with slightly higher roof line and three 3-light case- ment windows, two similar windows with transom lights to left of part glazed door, section to right with 2-light casement window, and 4-light window to ground floor, ledged door to right. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments dated this building to the C16 or C17 and described interior timber- work of some quality, but on resurvey this building proved inaccessible. Included for group value. (RCHM, Vol 3, p 79).
