Details
PUDLESTONE CP SO 55 NE 10/59 Ford Abbey 11.6.59 II Farmhouse. Early C16, enlarged during C17 and further altered during the C18 and mid-C19, further C20 alterations. Square-panelled timber-framing with painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, sandstone rubble plinth and part refacing, rubble stacks with brick shafts, Welsh slate roofs. L-plan with entrances to north-west and south-east fronts, through-passage, gable- end and axial stacks. Further additions to north-west and again to south-east form a small enclosed courtyard. Two storeys and part single storey with attic. South-east front: one 3-light, one 2-light and similar 3-light casement window to first floor, one 2-light casement window to left and one 3-light and one similar 2-light window to right of gabled porch with part-glazed inner door. To the north-west front enclosed in the courtyard is a small two-storey porch with shaped doorhead and small 2-light casement window in gable. Interior retains chamfered and moulded ceiling beams and triangular-headed doorways in rear wing. (RCHM, Vol 3, p 170).
