Farmhouse. C16 with C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-frame, partly clad in brick, plain tile roof, external brick and rubble stack to left end, brick stack to right. Formerly L-plan: service and hall in main range, porch to cross passage entrance, gabled cross-wing to upper end; stack on rear wall of hall (not now visible externally); angle of L filled to form rectangular plan in early C19. Garden front: 2 storeys with 3 irregular ranges of windows under 3 gables; mostly C19 casements with segmental heads, multi-pane sashes to left range, large area of ground floor obscured by late C19 and C20 lean-to containing entrance at right end. The opposite (farmyard) front has some recently exposed close-studding, and the original porch (door replaced by a sash window). Interior: original roof of 4 bays over hall/service, 3 bays over cross-wing; trusses have single queen posts to collar and trench purlins; hall stack has the remnants of star plan brick shafts within the roof space. Hall contains some C17 panelling, including a broken pediment over door with ball finials.
